Former Major General Alexander Ogloblin, who was sentenced to 9 years for bribery, has again applied to be sent to a special military operation. His lawyer Maxim Dovgan informed Izvestia about this on September 29.

According to the lawyer, Ogloblin submitted requests for referral to his detention center more than 10 times, but all of them remained unanswered.

"After agreeing with him, we decided not to appeal the verdict. He submitted another petition to be sent to the SVO zone," Dovgan said.

On August 21, the prosecutor asked the court to find Ogloblin guilty of accepting a bribe and requested 12.5 years in prison for him. In February 2022, the Moscow Garrison Military Court had already sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison for embezzlement. However, the Moscow City Court released him after he testified in the case of General Vadim Shamarin. The term was changed to correctional labor.

According to the investigation, Oglobin received bribes from representatives of JSC Perm Telephone Plant Telta from 2016 to 2021. In turn, he promised patronage in the execution of a multimillion-dollar state defense order for the supply of communication devices for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.

On August 30, it was reported that Ogloblin announced in his last word at the 235th garrison military court that he had pleaded guilty to accepting a bribe of 12 million rubles from JSC Perm Telephone Plant Telta. The hearings were held behind closed doors.
