Sobyanin noted the growing popularity of IT areas in colleges

The popularity of IT courses in Moscow colleges has increased by almost 10% compared to last year. 7,7 thousand students have enrolled in relevant specialties this year, said Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

The most popular field is "Information Systems and Programming". In total, the colleges train specialists in 12 areas in demand in IT — software development, information security, system support, and installation of communication networks.

Also this academic year, a number of new areas have appeared that cover the development of computer games, quantum communications, augmented and virtual reality technologies.

According to Sobyanin, in order for students to immerse themselves in the profession immediately from the first year, colleges work closely with leading city enterprises. There are more than 300 such partners.

In addition, the capital's educational institutions are constantly modernizing their material and technical base, in particular, creating technological spaces and cyber polygons there.
