- Construction of a pedestrian bridge between Mnevnikovskaya floodplain and Krylatskoye has begun in Moscow.
In Moscow, construction of a pedestrian bridge has started between Mnevnikovskaya floodplain and Krylatskoye, which will connect Ostrovnaya Street with the Projected Passage No. 1074 and Nizhni Mnevniki Street. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
After the bridge is built, "local residents will receive a new pedestrian connection between the two districts of Khoroshevo—Mnevniki and Krylatskoye and a comfortable route to the Rowing Canal and other sports infrastructure facilities," the mayor noted in his channel in the IACH.
The arches of the bridge will resemble wings in appearance. The bridge span will be decorated with red decorative details. Architectural and artistic lighting will also be installed on the bridge.
"We are working on both banks of the Moskva River. We plan to complete them in 2027," the mayor said.
Since 2011, 39 bridges have been built in Moscow, not counting the railway ones. Five of them are off—road cycling. They stretched across the old channel of the Moskva River in the Nagatinsky Backwater, as well as through the Yauza and the Tsyganka River (in the TiNAO). Another bridge, across the Drainage Canal, connected the arrow of Baltschug Island with the Crimean and Yakimanskaya embankments.
