The relatively short period of declining car prices in Russia is coming to an end. The news about the increase in recycling since November 1 has boosted sales. This was reported on September 29 by Rossiyskaya Gazeta with reference to the dealers interviewed.

As Evgeny Zhitnukhin, commercial director of the Fresh automotive marketplace, noted, demand in car dealerships recorded a 30% increase in August, which was very successful in terms of sales, which gave reason to slightly adjust prices and discount policies. Warehouses are emptying, and the year of manufacture, color and equipment are fading into the background for many buyers, Zhitnukhin noted.

September was the first month of the year when importers relaxed their budgets for discounts, said Renat Tyukteev, Deputy General Director for New Car Sales at Avilon AG. The main reason was the increase in sales in the summer. Tyukteev estimates that more than 70% of manufacturers have cut support programs, which has led to a decrease in the level of discounts on the market.

Alyona Krezhenkova, head of Interleasing's Partner Relations Department, shared that additional discounts on car stock from previous years of production are gradually being eliminated, and this applies to different segments. Discount policies are gradually being suspended by brands such as Voyah, Changan and Exeed. At the same time, Chery, Omoda and others are still retaining offers due to the availability of inventory.

The specialist said that a significant increase in prices on the car market is expected by the beginning of November, which is facilitated by the planned increase in recycling, the still high Central Bank rate and the continuing shortage of new cars. According to her, the increase will be 2-3% in the mass segment, 10-15% in the premium segment, and the price may add 10-20% for electric cars and hybrids.

On September 24, it became known that the situation with overstocking, which arose at the end of last year, is stabilizing in the Russian automotive market. In January of this year, the total stocks of new passenger cars amounted to about 600-700 thousand vehicles. By autumn, according to estimates of industry participants, the drains do not exceed 350 thousand cars.
