The Ukrainian Armed Forces left a wounded American mercenary in Malye Shcherbaki

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) left a wounded American mercenary to die in battle in Malye Shcherbaki in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on September 29 by a stormtrooper of the 5th company of the 2nd battalion of the 392nd regiment of the 19th division of the Dnepr group with the call sign Uvar.

The incident occurred on May 9, 2025, when a special forces detachment of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine, which included a foreigner, tried to attack Russian positions in the village. According to Uvar, the American mercenary was wounded.

"They abandoned him, he was still alive at that time. It was just that his leg was shot. We offered him to surrender," the soldier told RIA Novosti.

He noted that the wounded man was responding in English to the shouts of the Russian fighters. Uvar reported that he and his partner had met fire from a pair of stormtroopers, which included an American.

"They were walking in twos. He (my partner) destroyed the first one, and I (wounded) the second one. When I shouted at them to give up, they started to sit in such a groove. I shot him in the leg, broke two legs," he said.

However, it was not possible to capture the American. According to Uvar, after the mercenary was wounded, an artillery strike was launched at the house where the Russian soldiers were, then attack drones flew in, which prevented them from approaching the wounded man.

"The FPV and artillery have already begun to cover us. <...> There were more than 20 (drones), at first they counted, and then they stopped," he noted.
