Ukraine has the opportunity to give up a fifth of its territories in exchange for a settlement of the conflict. This was announced on September 27 by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Levente Magyar.

"Now Ukraine will have to give up a fifth of its territory. I don't want to tell Ukraine what to do, I'm just saying that, based on our experience, the world can sometimes be painful," the Telex portal quotes her as saying.

According to him, the situation in Ukraine can be compared to the situation in Hungary at the end of the First World War, when Budapest was forced to accept the terms of peace.

In addition, he added that the Hungarian side made the only right decision at that moment and retained a third of the state.

Earlier, The Independent newspaper, citing a statement by Emil Kastehelmi, a military analyst at the Finnish company Black Bird Group, reported that Ukraine's chances of regaining the lost territories were extremely low, and the country would not be able to return to the borders of 2022.
