The fascination of European leaders with the issue of sending a military contingent of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) to Ukraine is hindering political progress in resolving the conflict. This was announced on September 28 by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the UK Andrey Kelin.

"As a result, the fascination of European leaders with the topic of sending troops hinders the progress of the political process to find solutions to end the conflict in Ukraine," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He also noted that sending NATO troops is an unacceptable option for Russia.

On September 27, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto proposed sending 20,000 military peacekeepers to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, the Gaza Strip, or any other place that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) deems necessary. The Indonesian leader stressed that the initiative is not directed against Russia, the country strives to maintain neutrality.
