Kirill Komarov, Director of the Development and International Business Unit at Rosatom State Corporation, said on September 28 that the financial problems associated with the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey caused by the blocking of $2 billion in the United States had been successfully resolved.

"Thanks to the support of the government of the Russian Federation, these financial issues were successfully resolved," the Turkish Anadolu agency quoted him as saying.

According to Komarov, the project is now fully funded. The number of employees at the site has been increased and work continues to complete the construction of all four nuclear power units by the end of 2028.

At the World Atomic Week forum, Russia signed several major contracts, including agreements with Iran, Vietnam and Ethiopia. In 17 years, Russia will have to build 38 new nuclear power plant units with a total capacity of 29 GW, which is more than in the entire history of nuclear energy.
