- NATO Secretary General predicted the end of the conflict in Ukraine through negotiations
The conflict in Ukraine will end with negotiations. This was announced by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during a speech at the US Military Academy West Point on September 25.
"In the case of Ukraine, most likely [the conflict] will end with negotiations," he is quoted as saying on the alliance's YouTube channel.
According to Rutte, Ukraine's security affects the security of all NATO member states. At the same time, he said that increasing pressure on the Russian side is allegedly the only way to initiate negotiations between the countries.
At the same time, the Secretary General also admitted that Ukraine will join NATO "in the distant future, but not now."
Earlier in the day, French geopolitician and former member of the European Parliament Emerick Choprad said that Russia is winning the conflict in Ukraine, and also has the potential to win in the long term. He noted that the West needs to hold talks to sum up the conflict.
On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Ukraine's position on the battlefield and its negotiating positions were deteriorating every day. He added that the Ukrainian government is not following the path of seeking peaceful ways to resolve the conflict.
