The advanced crew of the D-30 howitzer of the Center group of forces destroyed the control center for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on September 28 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The UAV control center was located in a dilapidated building, in the area of which Russian reconnaissance drone operators discovered movement routes and poorly camouflaged antennas. The coordinates for the defeat were obtained by the calculation of the D-30 howitzer, which performs firing tasks in advanced positions.

The unit's gunners fired a series of 122-millimeter shells. They methodically destroyed the structure, clearing the airspace above the route segment for the advance of the group's assault units.

"It (management — Ed.) is simple, effective and precise. The team arrives and prepares for battle. When they give a target, the gunner, commander and crew numbers move forward, quickly raise the gun, <...> give the command, we work on targets and take cover again," said Yuri Demidov, senior gunner of the gun.
