- World champion Ashraf Mohamed moved a 700-ton vessel with his teeth and set a Guinness World Record.
The world champion in powerlifting (power triathlon), Egyptian citizen weightlifter Ashraf Mohamed set a Guinness World Record by moving a 700-ton vessel with his teeth. This was reported on September 27 by the Arabic newspaper Al Khaleej.
"Egyptian wrestler Ashraf Mohamed set a new Guinness World Record after successfully towing a 700-ton ship with his teeth on a beach in the city of Hurghada," the publication says.
According to the publication, the place of setting the record was not chosen by chance: the wrestler insisted on it personally, as he planned to attract new tourists to this region with his record.
It is specified that this action was his successful attempt to beat the value previously set by Ukrainian athlete Oleg Skavysh — he, as noted, tried to increase the weight taken by his opponent by 50 tons. This victory was important for Ashraf Mohamed, who plans to further develop in this area in order to "strengthen the status" of his country in the international arena. Before setting the record, he had already gained fame thanks to his towing of a train and 11 trucks.
On August 8, Russian gymnast Maria Roslyakova set a world record in the Official Excellence category for her performance at the North Pole. This achievement was registered in the Register of Records of Russia, as well as in the International Book of Records Interrecord. The performance of programs with ribbons, balls and clubs at that time had no place in history.
