Hollywood actor Mark Dacascos arrived in Elista on September 27 to participate in the Third International Buddhist Forum.

"It is an honor for me to be invited to the Buddhist forum. I've been coming to Russia since 1996, and I've always said that I have great experiences. I love Russia," the actor said.

In an interview with Izvestia, he said that Buddhism has always aroused his deep interest. In addition, Dacascos noted that before becoming an actor, he wanted to be a Buddhist monk.

During the forum, the actor visited Kalmykia for the first time and expressed a desire to get to know the culture and traditions of the local people better. In addition, he plans to get acquainted with Russian cinema and expand his understanding of the creative processes in the country.

Earlier, on August 25, it was reported that world stars came to the Moscow International Film Week, which was held in the capital from August 23 to 27. The topics of their discussions were current trends, as well as how Russian films dedicated to traditional values manifest themselves against their background. The film forum, dedicated to strengthening international relations in the field of cinematography, brought together filmmakers from more than 20 countries.
