Attempts to blame the DPRK for the problems of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) are absolutely unacceptable. This is stated in a statement explaining Russia's refusal to participate in the 14th Conference on Facilitating the Entry into Force of the CTBT, published on September 27 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We consider it absolutely unacceptable to try to accuse the DPRK of the fact that the Treaty has not become a truly functioning international legal mechanism," the publication says.

In addition, the foreign ministry clarified that the main reason for the problems with the functioning of the treaty is the "obstructionist position of the United States." Pyongyang's position, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, is due to pressure from the American side.

In addition, the statement says that the Russian Federation does not consider it possible for itself to join any statements or documents directed against the DPRK.

On September 22, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced at the 13th session of the Supreme People's Assembly of the XIV convocation that the country had acquired some secret weapons that strengthened the state's military industry. News Agency.1 on the same day, it was reported that, presumably, the DPRK's new secret weapon is the Hwasong—20 intercontinental ballistic missile.
