Sergunina spoke about the popular sports grounds of the Moscow Seasons
Almost 1.3 thousand free training sessions for skateboard and scooter tricks were held at the Moscow Seasons sports grounds. This was announced by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina. The sports spaces were open from May 1 to September 14.
"During the warm season, more than 80,000 people visited the Moscow Seasons sports grounds," Sergunina said. Locations in Losinoostrovsky, Shchukino, Kosino-Ukhtomsky and Mitino districts have become the most popular, the deputy mayor noted.
Streetball and padel tennis could be played at some venues, while modern skate parks were set up at others. It was possible to rent the necessary equipment — from balls and rackets to scooters and helmets — at rental points located in each location.
Scooter schools located in six districts, including Otradnoye, Cheryomushki, and Yuzhnoye Butovo, were particularly in demand among children aged nine to 16. During the lessons, instructors helped to master jumping with 360-degree rotation of the scooter and other tricks.
There was a free skate school in Novokosino district. During the open training sessions, the mentors told how to control a skateboard and perform various elements. Fans of streetball — street basketball — were invited to two locations with six courts in the districts of Lyublino and Losinoostrovsky.
Padel tennis spaces (a discipline combining lawn tennis and squash, which uses a racket without strings) operated in four districts, including Ochakovo-Matveevsky and Severny Medvedkov. As a rule, visitors held friendly meetings at the venues and played in a free format.
The Moscow Seasons sports spaces have become part of the large-scale Summer in Moscow project. From June 1 to September 14, educational, cultural, historical, charitable and other events were held at more than 400 venues throughout the capital.
