Almost 150 contacts with bears were registered in Kolyma in 2025

In the Magadan region, since the beginning of 2025, 149 appeals from citizens about meeting with bears have been registered. Locals are asked to be careful.

According to MagadanMedia news agency, the predators have already gained fat in the fall and are looking for places to hibernate. Nevertheless, bears are still seen near suburban areas.

Residents of Magadan are reminded that when entering the forest, they need to clean up garbage, make noise and talk loudly, and stay away from dense thickets.

Earlier in the day, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky introduced a high-alert regime due to the increased frequency of bear sightings.
