Shifting responsibility to the People's Republic of China (PRC) will not help overcome the crisis in Ukraine, the origins of which lie in the accumulated contradictions in the field of security in Europe. This was stated at a briefing on September 26 by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, according to China Central Television (CCTV).

"Shifting responsibility to China will not solve the issue. The roots of the Ukrainian crisis lie in the long—accumulated regional contradictions in the field of security in Europe," the diplomat said.

He also stressed that China is not involved in the crisis in any way, on the contrary, adheres to an objective and impartial position, actively promotes reconciliation and negotiations.

The representative of the ministry noted that it is possible to find the right way to solve the problem only by taking into account the legitimate security interests of all parties and by creating a "balanced, effective and sustainable European security architecture."

On September 23, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused China of not exerting pressure on Russia and not wanting the conflict to end.

Li Yihong, Charge d'affaires of the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the World Trade Organization (WTO), said on September 24 that the US efforts to force China to abandon the purchase of energy resources from Russia would not affect contracts between Moscow and Beijing.
