A high-alert regime was introduced in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky due to the increased occurrence of bears there. This was announced on September 26 by the head of the city Evgeny Belyaev.

"A high-alert regime is being introduced in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky due to the increased frequency of cases of bears entering the urban environment. In the last 24 hours, several calls to operational services with messages about bears have been recorded. All calls have been processed," he said in a message on his Telegram channel.
