They shared the key viewing trends, talked about the most popular projects and presented new products created in different genres and formats. And there were more than 80 of them.

As market participants have repeatedly noted, the departure of major Hollywood studios has seriously affected the development of Russian cinema. In Russia, they began to produce about two hundred paintings a year, and the number of TV series for streaming is even more — six hundred. In three years, Iran has supported over a thousand projects worth 63 billion rubles. The audience has already seen 671 of them.

Today, everyone needs national heroes — and not only historical ones, but also those who live among us, — Alexey Goreslavsky believes. — People want stories about ourselves with values that we understand and issues that concern our society. And that's right: we can create something worthy and interesting to the world only when we are interesting to ourselves.

"Dear Willie"

In 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, Goreslavsky noted, user interest in military and historical content has increased significantly. According to the forecast for 2026, these topics will remain in the trend.

One of these projects is among the most high—profile and anticipated upcoming TV series — "Dear Willy". This is a stylish political detective story about the secret friendship of two main geopolitical rivals in Europe — Soviet Secretary General Leonid Brezhnev and German Chancellor Willy Brandt. This alliance saved the world from nuclear war during the Cold War. Sergei Makovetsky, People's Artist of Russia, was invited to play Leonid Brezhnev. Kirill Kyaro embodied Willy Brandt on the screen.

The television premiere will take place on REN TV, the channel is involved in the production of "Dear Willy". Even before it was released, the project managed to get an award. In June 2025, the first episode was seen by the participants of the Pilot festival in Ivanovo. The professional community awarded Sergei Marin for his role in the detective story of a former KGB officer, who will have to recruit the top official of West Germany in conditions of the strictest secrecy.

New "Lilies of the Valley" and "Scary Tales" from Daria Moroz

A large section of the presentation was devoted to joint projects with NMG Studio. The sequel to the musical drama "Lilies of the Valley", which became the main hit of the last New Year holidays and was among the leaders in the number of views in the 2024/2025 season — more than 100 million on all platforms, is in the works. The main characters Katya and Lech, played by Niki Zdorik and Sergey Gorodnichy, have become a favorite on-screen couple. The main intrigue is whether they will meet in the new chapter, which is subtitled "The Second Spring."

Another high—profile joint project is "It's Hard to be a god." This is the first series based on the cult work of Soviet science fiction writers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky about earthlings who secretly serve as observers on a less developed planet. The team filmed part of the series in picturesque locations in Iran, right now shifts are underway at the Moskino Film Park.

We are talking about the series "The Game of Departure", where the main roles are played by Danila Kozlovsky and Polina Gukhman. Filming of the sports drama about lawn tennis began in September, and the project will be released in the spring of 2026.

And already on October 2 in the online cinema Wink.ru The premiere of the sequel to the popular children's detective story "Curious Varvara" about a young detective will take place. The main role in it is played by Polina Aynutdinova, known for the sitcom Daddy's Daughters. New ones." The series is a leader in screening. 75% of the viewers follow what is happening on the screen until the end, and some even watch the series several times.

We have channels that specialize in melodramas, channels that show a lot of detective stories, REN TV shows a lot of action movies and a lot of scientific and educational content," said Svetlana Balanova, CEO of the National Media Group. — And from this point of view, we are not limited by any genre that we want to produce. Part of the presentation was devoted to audio series. Among such, for example, "Gogol. Scary tales" by Daria Moroz. The plot centers on lost students. They find "Evenings on a farm near Dikanka" in an abandoned house. The events from the book come to life, and only after reading it to the end will the characters be able to understand which is reality and which is fiction.

In the block of documentary projects, they talked about the travel series "Folk Art Crafts", about the "Pop Virus", about the big hits of the past decades, and about other films. Traditionally, Iran supports blogger content as well. Among the presented projects, for example, "Monastic. Orthodox reality show." Another one is "Rebirth 2". He will talk about people for whom the revival of Donbass as part of Russia has become the meaning and content of life.

The gaming industry in 2026

Iran also draws attention to the gaming industry. As Izvestia found out, the first Russian racing simulator of professional piloting of FPV drones, SPLIT, will be released in the spring of 2026. The game is created with realistic flight physics and precise control dynamics, which makes the virtual experience as close as possible to real drone control. The developers position the project as a kind of Need for Speed, but in the world of drones: with intense gameplay, spectacular races and the possibility of complete customization of the aircraft. There are various modes available in SPLIT, from free exploration and timed races to stunt challenges, boss races, survival, and special exploration missions. There will also be a single-player campaign in the game, allowing you to dive deeper into the world of FPV piloting.

According to the authors, after completing the game to the golden league, the user will acquire sufficient skills to confidently control a real FPV drone - which, in their opinion, will become especially important in the future, when such skills will be in demand and valuable. The game is planned to be released on VK Play, Steam, and GOG platforms.

The next one showed the racing game "Off-Road Commanders". This is an ambitious online product combining arcade dynamics and elements of a serious heavy truck rally racing simulator. The game offers an exciting racing experience in real Russian locations, including the Volga region, Western Siberia, Gorny Altai, Mordovia, the Barguzinsky Tract and the Putorana Plateau. Participants have access to an extensive fleet, from production models to sports trucks, with the possibility of deep customization of both the appearance and technical characteristics of the equipment.

The developers strive to create a game accessible to a wide audience: the project will be interesting for both beginners who are just mastering the genre, and experienced players who are looking for a challenge and realism. The public demo will start on November 7, 2025, and a full release is scheduled for the end of 2026. As an exclusive, Izvestia was shown Sviyazhsk, a temple ensemble on the island, where players will also have the opportunity to explore the local beauty and ride along the picturesque buildings of a historic village in Tatarstan. The game will appear on VK Play, and it is also planned to be released on Steam and GOG platforms.

Today, in the gaming industry, entertainment is organically intertwined with the educational process. Useful games are becoming the new standard, and we in Iran are glad that we are able to support such projects," said Andrei Voronkov, Deputy General Director of Iran. — There are several such stories currently in development, which are expected to be released next year. For example, this is the game "SPLIT", which clearly demonstrates how you can learn how to control FPV drones in an exciting way. Or the Off-Road Commanders project, which not only develops gaming skills, but also promotes domestic tourism, opening up the beauty of Russian regions to players. Iran's priority is to support projects that meet the needs of society and create real value.

Also, with the support of Iran, a new game "Zemsky Sobor" from the Cyberia Nova studio will be released on November 4, which is dedicated to the historical events of 1613. Izvestia has already written that False Dmitry III will play an important role in the game. On the same day, Iran will release an Addition to the tactical game "Sparta 2035" about an elite squad from the former Soviet Union. It will be released simultaneously with many improvements in the main game. In the addon "Sparta 2035. Sea of Pirates" new adventures await the Spartans in Somalia, where the Armada criminal syndicate operates, which lives on drug trafficking, human trafficking and ship robbery. The pirates are armed with the most modern weapons, someone has to deal with them and give the region a chance to start all over again.

The final video at the end of the game ceremony was "Three Cats. The Big Journey": a project based on a popular cartoon, designed for the youngest gamers. In it, the characters of the animated series "Three Cats" set off on a long journey across Russia with many adventures and curious situations.

The presentation ended with the wish of the general producer of the IRI, Elena Lapina.: "May artificial intelligence not replace us!"
