Trump promised not to call anyone a "paper tiger"
US President Donald Trump, who recently made several harsh statements about Russia, said that he no longer intends to use the expression "paper tiger." He said this on September 25 in a conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the White House.
"I thought this conflict [in Ukraine] would be the easiest to settle. <...> And I'm not going to call anyone a paper tiger," the politician said.
After his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York, the American leader wrote on the Truth Social network that Russia was fighting in Ukraine "aimlessly," recalling the "paper tiger" during the conflict.
As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted earlier in the day, various statements from the United States are being made against Russia, including diametrically opposed rhetoric ranging from positive to negative. However, this does not affect the course of the conflict settlement in Ukraine. The Russian Federation continues to be open to putting the situation on the track of peaceful negotiations.
