In Moscow's Gostiny Dvor during the autumn academic art fair "Art Russia. Classic. New View" On September 25, the exhibition of Vladimir Volk, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and Russia, an artist, sculptor and novelist, opened. The opening of the event, which was organized by the Synergy Corporation together with art critic Elizaveta Frolova, was attended by the artist's daughter, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

"This wonderful exhibition is a cultural event in the life of our country. I would like to express my gratitude to the organizers of the project, the Synergy company, and personally to the beautiful, talented Elizaveta Frolova, who allowed the pope's paintings to be displayed here today," said Volk.

Temples are most often depicted in the artist's works, icon painting occupies a significant place, which he continued to study until the end of his life. The result of his labors was many years of work on the decoration of the Church of Archangel Michael in the Belarusian village of Tikhinichi, which he began in 1997. The wolf created several mosaics and painted more than 60 icons, transferring them to the temple. For this, he received high awards from the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).

According to the artist's daughter, Orthodoxy was a common thread through his entire work.

"I really love his temples, his churches, his monasteries. Some of the works are in my collection, and some of them are already decorating private homes. My dad lived with these values, and I'm glad that I can show his work. This is valuable, exciting and dear to my soul," Irina Volk noted.

The artist painted all his works from nature, and he always had an easel, paints, and brushes with him on trips. The exhibition introduces a part of the creative heritage, which includes more than four thousand works in various genres — painting and graphics, oil portrait, still life.

Wolf's paintings have been exhibited at more than 120 exhibitions. They are in the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow State Museum. A.N. Bulgakov, Saratov State Museum named after A.N. Radishchev, and private collectors in Russia and abroad. You can visit the exhibition on all days of the fair — from 24 to 27 September.

An exhibition of paintings from the collection of the Russian Museum dedicated to the capital has been operating at VDNH since September 19. The exhibition consists of four sections — "Old Moscow", "New Moscow", "Moscow Capital" and "Muscovites". Walking around the halls, you can trace how the image of the city has changed over the centuries, as well as learn about its famous inhabitants.
