The V Congress of Young Scientists invites foreign participants and journalists. The Congress will be held on November 26-28 at the Sirius University of Science and Technology. The Congress of Young Scientists is a key annual event of the Decade of Science and Technology, announced by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in 2022-2031. The Congress annually gathers leading scientists from Russia and other countries to discuss the prospects for international scientific cooperation, search for effective strategies for cooperation and collaboration between science and business, demonstrate scientific achievements and pitch projects, as well as informal communication between young scientists.
The Congress of Young Scientists is attended by representatives of leading Russian and international scientific schools, scientific and educational organizations, government and business authorities, industrial partners, young scientists, competition winners, grant recipients, students and schoolchildren from Russia and other countries. To date, more than 5,500 applications have already been submitted, including from 70 foreign countries.
The IV Congress of Young Scientists in 2024 was attended by more than 7,000 people from Russia and 63 foreign countries, including almost 400 foreign scientists. The IV Congress hosted the BRICS Association's events – the IX BRICS Young Scientists Forum and the VII BRICS Young Innovators Competition, which gathered a record number of participants in their history.
"The Congress of Young Scientists is a platform for constructive international dialogue and the creation of close ties between scientists from different countries. Every year, more and more foreign participants come to the Congress of Young Scientists. Traditionally, large delegations come from Brazil, India, Iran, China, Syria, Egypt, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus, South Africa and other African countries. The business program of the Congress includes a wide range of issues relevant to the development of science and attracting talented young people in different countries to the field of science. The Congress site also provides opportunities for establishing new contacts, sharing experiences and forming international research teams in various fields," said Anton Kobyakov, head of the interdepartmental working group on the preparation and holding of the Congress of Young Scientists and satellite events, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
The discussion program of the Congress includes more than 150 events: round tables, sessions, discussions and educational events in various areas of scientific research. The agenda of the Congress includes priorities of scientific and technological development, projects of initiatives of the Decade of Science and Technology, activities of scientific communities and others. The international track talks about the role of scientific cooperation and the formation of new scientific and technological leaders in a multipolar world, opportunities for participation in common international scientific projects, scientific diplomacy and scientific cooperation within international associations such as BRICS and others.
The Congress hosts a traditional exhibition of modern Russian technologies: scientific achievements, developments and startups are represented by more than 50 major Russian companies, leading universities, research and educational centers, government and public organizations. High-tech companies such as Rosatom, Rostec, Sberbank, Yandex, Sibur, Phosagro, Gazprom Neft, Alfa-Bank and others will take part in the exhibition of the V Congress. The Kurchatov Institute Research Center, the Moscow Innovation Cluster, the Russian Science Foundation, the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators, the Nasha Lab scientific equipment selection service, regional scientific and educational centers and scientific organizations: the Eurasian Scientific Research Center, Tulatech Scientific Research Center, HSE and others will present their developments. The exhibition stands will be equipped with QR codes, which will allow you to read about all the exhibits in several languages.
As part of the exhibition, the Nasha Lab project annually presents modern Russian and Belarusian equipment and reagents for equipping scientific laboratories and research centers. The Kurchatov Institute's exposition includes technologies in the fields of bioeconomics, genetic and biotechnology, materials science, as well as research infrastructure for synchrotron and neutron research and megascience class projects. Rosatom State Corporation presents innovative solutions in the field of nuclear energy and quantum computing. Rostec's stand demonstrates cutting-edge developments created by the corporation's enterprises in cooperation with leading Russian universities and scientific institutes. The scientific and educational centers present the developments of advanced engineering schools and joint projects with industrial partners.
Sports and cultural events are held annually at the Congress site – there were more than 40 of them within the framework of the IV Congress, including events in eight sports. The Rapid Chess Congress Cup with the assignment of the Russian Chess Federation ID, master classes in hockey, chess, checkers and go, tournaments in digital football and sports programming, a friendly football match and a conference on the move – a Scandinavian walking session, during which scientists presented their reports, took place. The site also hosted the national finals of the International Youth Robotics Competitions. The cultural and scientific entertainment program of the IV Congress included film screenings with discussions, astronomical walks, a musical and technological quiz, a karaoke battle, the final of the University League of Scientific Battles, a Night of scientific failures, a concert "Nauchrok", an intellectual game "What? Where? When?" with the participation of the Club's experts and young scientists.
The guests and participants of the V Congress will receive maximum language support. At the plenary session and in a number of halls of the business program, the Russian simultaneous translation service into nine languages based on artificial intelligence will be used – the translation is available as a text broadcast on a smartphone screen in real time.
