Over the past day, 353 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 29 people were killed and 413 injured. 16 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on September 25 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

12 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, but 21 road users, including one child, needed medical attention. Seven bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

So, in the city of Yefremov, Tula region, a 55-year-old bus driver traveling along an urban route with 15 passengers in the cabin, when stopping to disembark and board passengers outside the designated place on the rain-soaked roadway, skidded the vehicle, causing the bus to leave the road and overturned. Five bus passengers were injured in the accident, and they were later hospitalized with injuries.

As a result of 109 accidents involving pedestrians, 51 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 58 outside their area of operation, 13 pedestrians were killed, and another 100 were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 26 child pedestrians, half of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

There were also 45 accidents involving minors, in which 45 young road users were injured, including 14 passengers and three motor vehicle drivers. Three children were killed, one of whom was the driver of the car, the second was his passenger, and the third was a passenger in the car driven by her father.

For example, in the Republic of Kalmykia, on 1 km of the regional highway "entrance from FAD R-216 to the Uldyuchiny-2 railway station", a 15-year-old schoolboy, driving his parents' car without permission and without a driver's license, drove off the road at speed, after which the car overturned. As a result of the accident, both he and his 16-year-old friend, a passenger who was sitting in the back seat, died. Three more teenagers in the car, a 16—year-old girl in the front seat and two 15-year-old boys in the back, were hospitalized with injuries. The young driver, as well as all his passengers, did not use seat belts during the trip.

In the Republic of Crimea, on 28 km of the Nizhnegorsky – Belogorsk highway, a 47-year-old crossover driver drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place, where he collided with another passenger car driven by a 32-year-old motorist. The accident killed the driver of the second passenger car and his six-month-old son, who was in his mother's arms in the back seat at the time of the collision. Three other passengers in the car, including two boys aged two and three, who were sitting next to their mother without using child restraints and seat belts, were injured and hospitalized.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded motorists that child passengers are one of the most vulnerable categories among underage road users. The rules for transporting children using car seats, car seats, and other child restraints appropriate to the age, height, and weight of the child being transported should be strictly observed, as well as correctly positioned and secured in the cabin.

Transportation of children under the age of 7 years should only be carried out using child restraints. Between the ages of 7 and 12, transportation is possible using child restraints or seat belts, and in the front seat of a passenger car — only in child restraints.

"We urge drivers to always be attentive, collected and disciplined when driving vehicles. We recommend avoiding risky driving, speeding, sudden lane changes, overtaking, and other dangerous maneuvers. Remember that not only your life and health depend on your driving skills, driving experience, well—being and law-abiding driving behavior, but also the lives and health of other road users," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The day before, it was reported that the State Duma, at a plenary session on September 24, rejected a bill that proposed writing warnings to drivers about the inadmissibility of driving cars after taking such drugs in the instructions for the use of medicines containing narcotic or psychotropic substances.
