Nabiullina spoke about the risks of a sharp reduction in the key rate
The head of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, announced the risks of a rapid reduction in the key rate. She told about it on September 25 in the framework of the International Banking Forum.
"The markets were looking for a more rapid rate cut, not only at the September meeting, which took place, but also along the entire trajectory of the key rate. And this can be seen in the money market rates. In the first days of September, they, in fact, assumed a 100% probability that the rate cut would follow the lower limit of the forecast of the rate range that we made in July, and even, perhaps, slightly lower," Nabiullina said.
