The Sakhalin-3 project will be launched in 2028. This was announced on September 25 by the Governor of the Sakhalin Region, Valery Limarenko, at the Far Eastern Energy Forum.

As part of the project, gas will be exported to China and also used for the needs of the Russian Far East.

"We associate the prospects of the industry with the implementation of the Sakhalin-3 project. Its launch is scheduled for 2028," TASS quoted him as saying.

He also added that Gazprom intends to send part of the project's gas condensate for deep processing.

On September 24, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was successfully redirecting its energy flows to other markets. According to him, the markets in the East, not the European ones, are becoming premium for the Russian Federation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with the Xinhua news agency on August 30, pointed out that as part of the relations between Moscow and Beijing reaching an "all-time high level," Russia had consolidated its primacy in exporting oil and gas to China. In total, according to the president, starting in 2019, the total supply of "blue fuel" exceeded 100 billion cubic meters.
