Szijjarto explained the importance of maintaining a high-level dialogue between Russia and the United States

The importance of maintaining high-level contacts between Moscow and Washington is determined by the existing chance of preventing a third World war. This was announced on September 24 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

"As long as high—level contacts are maintained between Russia and the United States, we can still hope that we can avoid the worst-case scenario and we can avoid the outbreak of World War III," he said.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister also stressed that Budapest respects the maintenance of this interstate dialogue and added that his state appreciates the fact that Moscow remains a reliable supplier of energy resources.
