The first service was held in an abandoned 19th century church near Tula
In the Tula region, in the village of Jeremino, Suvorovsky district, the first divine service since the revolution was held in the abandoned church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The temple dates back to 1899-1909.
A prayer service was held by Vladislav Artasov, dean of the Suvorovsky district, on September 21 on the occasion of the great feast day, which coincides with the patronal one. About 70 residents of the village and neighboring villages came to the service, as well as guests from the Suvorovsky district and the Kaluga Region.
After the prayer service, the parishioners made a procession around the temple. After that, a memorial service was held for the deceased.
TSN24 reports that in 2021 and 2024, the dean and a group of initiative people came here on Easter days to hold prayer services, but the locals did not attend them.
Earlier it was reported that in the Tula region, archaeologists found a unique detail of a spear and two arrowheads from the 14th century. They could belong to the participants of the Battle of Kulikovo in 1380. Evgeny Stolyarov, head of the Archaeological Research Department of the museum-Reserve, said that the wtok was first found at an excavation site.
