In the center of Bangkok, on Samsen Road near Vajira Hospital, part of the roadway collapsed, forming a pit 50 m deep. This was reported on September 24 by the Bangkok Post.

The article clarifies that the incident occurred on Wednesday morning at about 07:13 local time (03:13 Moscow time). The videos of the incidents show how the asphalt pavement begins to rapidly sink into the ground, dragging electric poles with it.

The drivers managed to avoid falling into the resulting pit by driving back in time. According to official information, two support pillars and a parked police car fell into the sinkhole.

The authorities promptly restricted traffic on the adjacent sections of the road. The medical facility temporarily stopped receiving patients, and about 3.5 thousand people were evacuated from nearby buildings. A preliminary assessment showed that the hospital's structures were not damaged.

The cause of the collapse has not yet been determined. It is noted that earlier this section of the road was closed for work on the construction of a metro line. Experts are investigating the incident.

An apartment building collapsed in India on August 28, killing 15 people. It was noted that the collapse occurred on August 27 at 12:05 local time (09:05 Moscow time).
