The Moscow Regional Court rejected the defense's request for the parole of Oleg Mitvol, the former deputy head of Rosprirodnadzor, who was convicted in the case of embezzlement of funds during the construction of the metro in Krasnoyarsk. This is reported by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Thus, Oleg Mitvol will continue to serve his sentence in a penal colony. In November 2023, the Kolomna City Court of the Moscow region had already refused to grant a request for parole.

As Mitvol himself explained during the meeting, his salary in the correctional facility is 15 thousand rubles. With such an income, it would have taken him an extremely long time to fully repay the damage exceeding 900 million rubles. He stated that he had never had stolen funds, and his relatives were helping him partially compensate for the damage, but at the time of consideration of the petition, the damage had not been fully compensated.

Oleg Mitvol was sentenced in September 2023 by the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Krasnoyarsk to 4.5 years in prison for embezzlement of more than 900 million rubles allocated for the construction of the metro in Krasnoyarsk. The Board of Directors of JSC Krasnoyarsk Trust of Engineering and Construction Surveys (TISIZ), headed by him, was involved in the project. In the spring of 2024, the Krasnoyarsk Regional Court upheld the verdict.
