In Pyatigorsk, pensioners will be taught how to sing and handle finances
An Older Generation Communication Center has been opened for the elderly in Pyatigorsk, the Stavropol Territory branch of the Social Fund of Russia reported on September 22.
"The Nadezhda Choir gave a concert for the first guests of the Center, followed by a lecture on financial literacy. The festive day ended with spiritual gatherings over a cup of tea," the SFR said.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the local administration, the regional branch of the Union of Pensioners, the Council of Women, the Council of Veterans, as well as Irina Lomova, deputy head of the SFR Office for the Stavropol Territory, the department noted.
"We continue to develop a network of Communication Centers for the older generation and strive to create conditions in which citizens of the "silver" age could feel in demand and happy. This project is aimed at improving the quality of life of pensioners, supporting their social activity and creating opportunities for self-realization. Here you can not only learn new things, engage in creativity, but also enjoy spending time with like—minded people," said Irina Lomova, Deputy head of the regional Branch of the SFR.
It is planned to organize round tables, various educational courses, master classes, and creative meetings at the Communication Center.
