A girl who fell out of an apartment window in Moscow died in hospital.

Investigators have opened a criminal case into the death of a young child as a result of a fall from an apartment window in western Moscow. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF).

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence")," the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of Russia says.

According to preliminary data, the girl, left unattended, fell out of the window of an apartment located on the 10th floor of a residential building. Despite the medical care provided, the victim died in one of the city's hospitals.

Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

The incident became known earlier in the day. It was clarified that the girl fell from the 10th floor of an apartment building on Udaltsova Street, 85a. Firefighters moved the child to a spinal shield and handed him over to the doctors.
