The elimination of the terrorist who derailed the Nevsky Express is a true story, the details of which have been kept secret for more than two decades. Now all the secrets will be revealed by the TV series "Specials", which is a minute-by-minute reconstruction of live filming and archival documents.

March 2010, in the Ingush village of Ekazhevo, a group of FSB special forces blocks a house of militants. Inside is one of Russia's most wanted terrorists, Said Buryatsky. He was the ideological mastermind of the underground, a master of propaganda, collected suicide belts, staged bloody terrorist attacks.

"Said Buryatsky is credited with the terrorist attack on the Nevsky Express, primarily when 28 people were killed. The units of the Central Security Service of the FSB Kartuyev and Buryatsky were blocked. Information about how the operation took place directly is rather fragmentary, but without key details for the general public," said military historian, writer, author of books on military conflicts of the 20th century Evgeny Norin.

For many years, the details of that operation remained classified, and only now viewers will be able to see how the FSB special forces worked in the new TV series "Specials". That very counter-terrorism operation is being filmed in great detail. The series will show how the special forces went on the trail of a terrorist, how they tracked his movements, and how they prepared for battle.

The main characters have completed a three-week training course at the FSB training center. The actors move the way the soldiers of the Special Forces Center did. These are short runs, sector control, and clear commands. Everything is as it was then, in 2010. There is no room for error, the fake will be immediately noticed by those who were there, so each scene is a reconstruction with precision to the step.

The series will show eight real FSB special operations, from the Caucasus to the Arctic. For filming, the creators got access to archival materials, director Alexander Chernyaev personally consulted with the participants of those operations.

"Yes, there are videos: we have about 80 hours of live footage, which we see and try to restore and reconstruct these events as much as possible," said director and co—author of the script Alexander Chernyaev.

The scriptwriters even had to soften some episodes, the reality was tougher. This is not just another series about security forces, but a movie about the price of such work, how much intelligence, analytics, and risk is behind each elimination of terrorist leaders. The special flavor of the series is given by local actors, in extras and cameo roles by artists who know the region and its people well from the inside.

"Many of them work in theaters and culture in Ingushetia. They are not professional actors, but at the same time they are bright, typical, talented and we are happy to invite them," explained Irina Filippova, assistant for supporting actors.

Alexander Zagulyaev, the famous stunt director of the Triix Media film company, is responsible for shooting the most spectacular scenes.

"There are a lot of different types, including helicopter, automobile, water, mountain, everything related to action, and there will be enough super stunts," he said.

This is the first joint project of the Triix Media film company and the REN TV channel. The series will primarily appeal to men, but it will also be interesting to women, because this is a movie about real heroes of our time.

On the first day of filming of the TV series "Specials" on July 24, according to tradition, a plate with the name of the series and the names of the creators was broken. After that, the scene of the capture of one of the militant leaders was filmed.

In the center of the plot is Igor Larionov (Denis Donskoy), a graduate of the Ryazan Higher Airborne School, who falls into the group of the special forces center of the FSB of Russia, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Kolpakov. Larionov's father was Kolpakov's comrade-in-arms before his death. As part of a group of special forces, Igor, who received the call sign Student, faces deadly missions — the elimination of the Al-Qaeda emissary in the North Caucasus, the liberation of a captured ship in the Arctic, and many others.
