It is reported that in the Ulan-Ude cancer dispensary, doctors mistakenly removed a healthy kidney from a woman, confusing it with a 15x7 cm tumor. Natalia Logina, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Buryatia, apologized for the current situation and negative feelings.
After the publication of information about the medical error, the investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) for the region opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("On causing serious harm to health by negligence").
It is reported that the victim demands a new organ transplant or monetary compensation from the medical institution.
Earlier, on September 16, in the Karabudakhkentsky district of Dagestan, investigators opened a criminal case on causing death by negligence after the death of a 19-year-old girl in a hospital. On September 9, after an operation to remove gallstones, the girl died in the Karabudakhkent Central Hospital. The family accuses the doctors of negligence, claiming that they rushed to the wedding and did not monitor the patient's condition, which led to her death. The deceased has an 11-month-old daughter.
