The government was offered to allow the theory of law to be passed without studying at a driving school

The National Automobile Union (NAS) has proposed to allow citizens to take the driver's license exam while preparing for theoretical exams on their own. This is stated in a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin dated September 17. A copy of the document is at the disposal of Izvestia.

The automobile union noted the poor training of teachers and the lack of interest of the leadership of driving schools in the results of students. In addition, the letter suggested revoking school permits if less than 60% of graduates pass the theoretical exam and less than 30% take the practical exam the first time.

We were also recommended to provide for compulsory study of traffic rules (SDA) in Russian schools and the types of penalties for violating them. This course can be included in the program of the discipline "Fundamentals of security and protection of the Motherland" (OBZR, previously – fundamentals of life safety).

New training programs at driving schools have been approved

New rules will be introduced in Russian driving schools starting from September 1, 2025. Theoretical classes will be allowed to take place remotely. The online learning format will be available subject to technical requirements.
