On September 22, the XX All-Russian Festival-Forum of Children's and Youth screen art "Boomerang" opened on the basis of the All-Russian Children's Center "Eaglet". The event is attended by more than 200 young filmmakers from 98 media studios in Russia and Belarus, who became winners of the International Teen Competition "Without a statute of Limitations: the Unconquered".

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, which were read out by Alexander Shkolnik, co-founder of the festival and General Director of the Victory Museum. In his message, the Russian leader noted that the festival had become a professional school for many talented children, helping them discover their abilities and become part of a large creative family. He also drew special attention to the fact that in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, the central theme of the participants' works will be films dedicated to the heroism of the people in the Great Patriotic War and the history of Russia.

The opening ceremony of the festival was held at the Amphitheater Cinema and Concert Hall. It was attended by film director Vladimir Grammatikov, Alexander Shkolnik, director of the VDC "Eaglet" Alexander Jeus and other significant figures.

"I took part in the opening, and it was just something incredible when you watch and admire everything, and when you go on stage, you get such a huge return, you see the children, you see the full amphitheater, and then you realize that everything we've been preparing for for so long has definitely come true, and that's it. It worked. It was immensely cool," said Alexandra Kondratieva, a young participant of the festival from Moscow.

The Boomerang Festival has been helping to discover the talents of young people for 20 years, and during this time more than 60 thousand teenagers took part in it, many of whom became professionals in the field of cinema and television.

Earlier, on June 24, it was reported that the National Media Group (NMG) and the Platforma CSP conducted a survey and found out which foreign and domestic films about the future Russians consider the most inspiring. The top ten most inspiring Russian and Soviet films were "Guest from the future", "Adventures of Electronics", "Amphibian Man", "Moscow - Cassiopeia", "Attraction", "One hundred years ahead", "Kin–dza-dza!", "Time of the first", the TV series "Two hills" and "Through thorns to the stars".
