A queue of thousands has formed in front of the State Farm stadium in the US state of Arizona, where the farewell to the murdered political activist Charlie Kirk will take place. Footage from the scene of the September 21 events is published by Izvestia.

Some took their places in the queue at night. Those present, among others, specially flew in from other states to say goodbye to Kirk. Many even came as whole families.

A mandatory thorough check by the US Security Service is organized before entering the stadium. Visitors are not allowed to pass with bags, lighters and electronic cigarettes.

Earlier in the day, The Washington Post (WP) reported on increased security measures at the Kirk Memorial in Phoenix. It was noted that they would be comparable to those typical for funerals of heads of state and Super Bowls.

Kirk died on September 10 as a result of an assassination attempt committed at the time of his speech at the University of Utah. He played a key role in the victory of American President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

On September 16, suspect Tyler Robinson was formally charged with capital murder, intentionally or knowingly causing Kirk's death in circumstances that pose a significant risk of death to others. The next day, he appeared in court for the first time via video link. During the entire hearing, he spoke only once, when the judge asked him to introduce himself.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
