- Russian drone operators have learned how to cheat the means of electronic warfare of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Operators of attack drones of the 18th Combined Arms Army have developed firmware for Molniya 2 drones, which allows bypassing electronic warfare (EW) devices The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on September 21 by the operator of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the call sign Damber.
According to RIA Novosti, the new program changes the behavior of the device when entering the radio interference zone.
"We flashed a program so that if an airplane enters electronic warfare, it goes on autopilot until it exits it. Just keeps heading straight… As soon as he leaves the EW, we turn around and refine our goal," Damber said.
The implementation of the firmware has significantly increased the effectiveness of the Molniya 2 sorties.
Earlier, on September 19, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had stopped trying to shoot down the Dnepr group's UAVs at the forward positions near Orekhovo in the Zaporizhia region. According to the commander of the 42nd Guards Division's drone crew with the call sign Vohan, Ukrainians are "afraid to come out and show themselves."
