The State Duma warned about fines for picking mushrooms in the reserve
Russians will be fined up to 4,000 rubles for picking mushrooms in nature reserves, national parks and other protected areas. This was announced on September 21 by State Duma Deputy Sergei Kolunov.
"Mushroom picking in nature reserves, national parks and other specially protected natural areas may result in an administrative fine under Article 8.39 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. For individuals — in the amount of 3 to 4 thousand rubles, for officials — from 15 to 20 thousand rubles, for legal entities — from 300 to 500 thousand rubles," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
It is noted that when collecting mushrooms that are listed in the Red Book of Russia, a crime will be assessed under Article 260.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional destruction or damage, as well as illegal extraction, collection and trafficking of especially valuable plants and fungi belonging to species listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation and (or) protected by international treaties Of the Russian Federation"). For this crime, a prison sentence of six to nine years and a fine of up to 3 million rubles is expected.
Earlier, on July 15, the Russian State Duma adopted in the second reading a bill that obliges land owners to take measures to combat plants dangerous to humans and the environment, including Sosnovsky hogweed. It is noted that this project amends the Land Code and other legislative acts of the Russian Federation.
