The State Duma proposed to increase the fine for smoking and drinking alcohol in the entrances

In the State Duma, deputies from the Fair Russia — For Truth faction proposed increasing the fine for smoking and drinking alcohol in entrances. This proposal was sent to the Minister of Construction and Housing Irek Fayzulin on September 21.

"We propose to make the following changes to the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation: to significantly increase the amount of administrative fines for smoking tobacco in the territories of common use of residential buildings (art. 6.24 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation) and for drinking alcoholic beverages in the same places (Part 1 of art. 20.20 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation), setting a base fine of up to 15 thousand rubles." The RIA Novosti news agency quoted the document of the proposal.

It is noted that the authors of the initiative — party leader, head of the Duma faction Sergei Mironov and Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Development of Civil Society Yana Lantratova — also proposed a double penalty or administrative arrest for 15 days for repeated violations.

At the same time, management organizations, homeowners' associations (HOAs) or housing and construction cooperatives (HCS) will have to pay a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles.
