The State Duma did not support the idea of banning the sale of condoms to spouses. This was announced on September 19 by Tatyana Butskaya, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood.

"While it may take time for the body to recover after hormone pills are discontinued or the spiral is removed, there is no such pause with condoms. A couple can get pregnant almost immediately as soon as they stop using them," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
