12.5 tons of counterfeit vodka seized in Transbaikalia

12.5 tons of counterfeit vodka of popular brands were found and seized in the Trans-Baikal Territory. This was announced on Friday, September 19, according to the press service of the regional Ministry of Energy.

Vodka with no labeling was "intercepted" in March 2025, said Denis Osipov, head of the Ministry's consumer market development department, according to ChitaMedia news agency.

According to the official, the operational and preventive measure "Alcohol" plays an important role in detecting fakes. Thanks to the raids that took place in August, 644 wholesale and retail trade facilities were checked. 22 administrative protocols have been drawn up.

Earlier it was reported that about 400 shops selling alcoholic beverages were closed in Transbaikalia. This happened due to the entry into force of the new law on September 1.
