- The lawyer called Pugacheva's interview an attempt to split Russian society from within
Lawyer Alexander Treshchev, who had previously filed a claim for compensation for moral damage in the amount of 1.5 billion rubles from singer Alla Pugacheva, demanded that the artist be completely deprived of royalties in Russia — according to him, they amount to at least 28 million rubles a year. In a conversation with Izvestia on September 19, the human rights activist noted that the provocative interview of the actress was aimed at splitting society from within.
"The West is trying to split our society from the inside when it can't get its way with sanctions or on the battlefield. Then such methods as "naked parties" or provocative interviews are used," he explained.
Treshchev clarified that royalties distributed through the Russian Copyright Society (RAO) are received by Pugacheva for using her work at various venues in the Russian Federation. He stressed that income from previously written songs, including those created during the Soviet era, should not sponsor anti-Russian sentiments.
The lawyer added that he intends to apply to the FSB, and also announced the filing of a petition to search and seize the artist's property on Russian territory to ensure future recovery.
Treshchev filed a lawsuit against Pugacheva to recover 1.5 billion rubles in compensation for moral damage after her statements in an interview in which the artist positively described the first president of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (a terrorist organization banned in Russia). Dzhokhar Dudaev. Treshchev noted that the words of the actress offended the veterans of military operations.
