VDNH invites schoolchildren to an exhibition of paintings from the collection of the Russian Museum in Pavilion No. 1 "Central", where schoolchildren will be able to get acquainted with works of fine art depicting Moscow in different eras, as well as famous figures of the city. This was announced on September 19 by the capital's portal mos.ru .

Guided tours of the exhibition for organized school groups are free of charge and daily — from 11:00 to 21:00 Moscow time, except Mondays.

The exhibition consists of four sections — "Old Moscow", "New Moscow", "Moscow Capital" and "Muscovites". Walking around the halls, you can trace how the image of the city has changed over the centuries, as well as learn about its famous inhabitants.

During the tour, students will be able to see 104 paintings and 11 sculptures. At the same time, the "Old Moscow" section is devoted to pre-revolutionary history. Students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the paintings of the French painter and engraver Gerard Delabart. His paintings depict views of pre—fire Moscow - the Kremlin, Red Square, Tsaritsyn and Ostankino.

The second section, "New Moscow", includes works from 1920-2010. Some of the works in this section tell about the lives of ordinary people who rush to work or run to dance or go to the cinema. The exhibition also shows the beauty of ordinary city streets. For example, in Vadim Dementiev's painting "Cloudy Day. The Moscow Courtyard".

The exhibition section "Capital" is dedicated to the return of Moscow's capital status and the reflection of this event in the artistic heritage of the 20th century. At the beginning of the exhibition, Ilya Repin's painting "The Solemn meeting of the State Council on May 7, 1901, on the centenary of its establishment."

In the fourth section, "Muscovites," you can see images of famous figures who connected an important part of their lives with the city: scientists, writers, workers, doctors, musicians, and actors. Works such as "Portrait of Academician N.D. Zelinsky" (1964) by Pavel Korin, "Portrait of B.I. Yakovlev" (1950) by Alexander Gerasimov and others are presented.
