The Investigative Committee (IC) has recognized veteran Colonel-General Nikolai Kizyun as a victim in a criminal case of fraud involving a notary. His lawyer Alexey Zorin told Izvestia about this on September 18.

"He gave detailed testimony and asked that Alexander Fedorchenko, a private Moscow notary, be brought to justice for complicity in fraud and abuse of authority," Zorin said.

The lawyer added that Fedorchenko's inaction led to the fact that the veteran's signature was fraudulently obtained and a donation for his housing was issued.

Earlier, on September 12, it became known that Fedorchenko, who participated in dozens of dubious real estate transactions, could not be brought to justice. Veteran Nikolai Kizyun, who shook hands with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Victory Day Parade, was almost deprived of his apartment because of the widow of his son and Fedorchenko. Kizyun was tricked into signing a waiver of inheritance.
