A cyclist from France who illegally crossed the border is currently in a pre-trial detention center. This was announced to Izvestia on September 18 by Vladimir Naidin, Chairman of the Public Monitoring Commission of the Primorsky Territory.

According to him, the detainee said that he wanted to cross the Russian-Chinese border. Due to a misunderstanding, the man was not allowed to ride his bike at the checkpoint, so he decided to "cut off" in another place.

The foreigner showed the chairman of the POC his bed. Naidin noted that the athlete has things and a TV. The only thing that surprised the Frenchman was the unusual food.

"All people who enter the detention center undergo a medical examination. The doctor [looks] if there are any diseases. There are no diseases, there are no diets, respectively, he eats from a common pot, as Russian citizens eat," Naidin added.

On September 6, French cyclist Sofiane Sehili was detained for illegally crossing the border in Vladivostok. It is noted that the 44-year-old man wanted to break the world record by driving from Lisbon to Vladivostok. According to the newspaper, since July of this year, the cyclist has traveled through Tajikistan, Mongolia and China.
