Colombian illegal armed groups actively carry out criminal business in Ukraine, including drug trafficking, mercenary activities, and the supply of components for drones and explosives. This was announced on September 17 by Cesar Niño, a lecturer at the Columbia Military University of New Granada, Doctor of Sciences in international Law.
"All armed groups in Colombia <...> have found in the conflict in Ukraine an ideal opportunity to conduct intercontinental business," he said, citing intelligence data in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The expert noted that this business includes drug trafficking, participation in foreign conflicts. In addition, Niño said that criminal groups are using the situation in Ukraine to obtain components for the production of explosive devices and drones. In his opinion, this explains the frequent attacks on the Colombian armed forces and police.
