Large-scale preparations for the restoration of two iconic Orthodox churches have begun in Sevastopol. We are talking about Peter and Paul and Pokrovsky Cathedrals.

Specialists are conducting a survey of buildings. They take accurate measurements, photofixation and laser scanning. This will make it possible to create digital models and identify hidden damage, accurately assess the condition of structures after decades of operation and the interaction of external factors, writes IA SevastopolMedia with reference to Governor Mikhail Razvozzhaev.

Then an in-depth study of the supporting elements of buildings will begin. Experts will examine the walls, roof and foundation in order to determine the repair method. They will pay special attention to the selection of materials and compliance with the requirements for the preservation of cultural heritage of federal and regional importance.

The financing of the work is carried out within the framework of the federal program "Cultural Development". The funds are used to develop scientific and project documentation.

Earlier it was reported that in Crimea, the bridge over the railway tracks from Petrovka to Krasnogvardeyskoye was temporarily closed for repairs. The restrictions came into force on August 23. The detour is organized through a railway crossing in the village of Krasny Partizan. Cars will have to make a detour of up to 15 km.
