Russians should keep no more than 5% of their savings in dollars. About this in an interview with "Gazeta.Ru" was told by Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Global Financial Markets and Fintech at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Elmira Assiaeva.
"In the current geopolitical and economic conditions, it is better to adhere to a conservative strategy for the distribution of foreign exchange savings. The optimal option is considered to be in which 70-80% of funds are placed in ruble assets — deposits and bonds. About 15% can be held in the currencies of friendly countries, and the remaining 5% can be held in euros or US dollars," the expert explained.
