The head of Roscosmos announced the development of an analogue of the Starlink system

Russia intends to develop a domestic equivalent of the terminal of the American Starlink satellite communication system. This was announced on September 17 by the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov.

"We will provide our own terminal soon. <...> It is imperative to make our own satellite device," he said on the air of Solovyov LIVE.

According to Bakanov, the installation will not be inferior to the development of the American company SpaceX. He added that the first stage of deployment of the groups will begin in December of this year and will cover 300 vehicles, while the second stage — 900. In addition, several test vehicles in orbit have already been inspected.

On May 20, Bakanov announced that the Rassvet project from the Bureau 1440 aerospace company was being developed in Russia, which would be a response to the Starlink system. According to him, the implementation of this project will make it possible to control Russian drones with increased accuracy.
