- The consequences of the UN recognition of Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip as genocide are called
The recognition by the United Nations of Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip as genocide may complicate Israel's international relations, but everything will depend on the support of the United States. This opinion was expressed by Andrey Koshkin, an expert of the Association of Military Political Scientists, Head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, on Tuesday, September 16.
"The Arab states will say that Israel is already recognized internationally as a country that is carrying out genocide against the Arab population of Palestine. Of course, they will talk about this, but you see that Israel does not recognize this for itself and explains to everyone the urgent need to survive in the Arab world," Koshkin said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
According to the expert, in the current situation in the Middle East, the right belongs to the strong and to the information media of the West. At the same time, much will depend on the support of Israel from the United States.
"If the United Nations is giving such a description now, then this is a serious black mark for Israel in international relations," he said.
Earlier, the UN Independent international Commission of Inquiry into events in the Occupied Palestinian Territory recognized Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip as genocide, RT reports. The Commission noted that Israel "destroyed the reproductive capacity of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as a group," reports NSN.
It is also emphasized that the Israelis have deliberately done everything to create conditions that are aimed at the physical destruction of the Palestinians as a group.
After that, Israel launched a ground operation to occupy the city of Gaza. 360.ru . It is accompanied by massive strikes throughout the enclave. Later, the country's defense ministry noted that the IDF would strike at Gaza until it defeated Hamas and freed the hostages. According to the Axios portal, the ground operation received the support of the United States. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that due to the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, Hamas has little time to agree to a cease-fire deal.
Later, European Commission (EC) spokeswoman Paula Pinho announced that tomorrow, on September 17, the EC would adopt a package of measures against Israel. According to her, the restrictions will include the suspension of certain trade agreements between Israel and the European Union (EU).
