A "black digger" was sentenced in Pskov for storing the found ammunition.
A court in Pskov sentenced a 52-year-old local resident who kept ammunition found on the battlefields in the basement of his house. This is reported by the joint press service of the courts of the region.
It was established that a resident of Pskov was engaged in unauthorized search activities on the battlefields. In the summer of 2024, he discovered a dugout in the forest with cartridges, shells and other ammunition from the Great Patriotic War.
The man moved the found objects to the basement of his house. He kept them there until they were seized by law enforcement officers.
As it turned out, some of the finds turned out to be usable. We are talking about an explosive device (an incendiary fragmentation shell), explosives (gunpowder) and 18 rounds of ammunition, the Pskov news feed clarifies.
The man was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, storage of explosives, explosive device") and Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, storage of ammunition for firearms"). The court sentenced him to three years and six months in prison, but taking into account his "exceptionally positive characteristics and active socio-patriotic activities," the real term was replaced with probation.
It is specified that the metal detectors with which Pskovich worked on the battlefields, the court decided to destroy. Explosives, explosives, and ammunition will suffer the same fate.
